Privacy Policy
When you contact K9 Conditioning & Control, request an assessment, become a client or use our website, we may handle some personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, how it is handled and the choices you have. We aim to keep it clear and practical.
This can include your contact details, information about your dog, booking details and customer records where applicable.
We use normal website, email and business service providers to operate K9 Conditioning & Control.
You can ask for access, correction or deletion where appropriate, or raise a privacy concern with us.
What we may collect.
The information we collect depends on how you deal with us. It may include:
- your name, phone number, email address, suburb and preferred contact method;
- information about your dog, such as breed, age, behaviour, training history, goals, handling or safety information and other details relevant to the service you are asking about;
- assessment, booking and availability information;
- messages, emails and other communications you send us;
- customer or service records if you become a client;
- photos, video or testimonials you choose to provide; and
- basic website, device and service-use information generated when you use the site.
Please only provide information that is reasonably relevant to your enquiry, assessment or the service you are using.
How we collect & hold it.
We usually collect personal information directly from you when you contact us, submit a website form or assessment, communicate with us or provide information during the course of our services.
Depending on the service, information may be held in our business email, private website or assessment systems, customer records and the service providers we use to operate the business.
If you become a client, we may keep customer and service records connected with your enquiries, communications, assessments and training services.
How we use your information.
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, understand what is happening with your dog, arrange assessments or training, provide our services, communicate with you, manage customer records and keep reasonable business records.
We may also use limited information to operate and maintain the website, provide customer features, prevent spam or misuse, understand general website traffic, resolve service issues and meet applicable legal or business requirements.
Forms, website services & analytics.
We use established technology and service providers to operate our website and business. This currently includes WordPress.com / Jetpack, website and email infrastructure, customer-management features, security and spam-protection services, and FormSubmit on some website forms.
When you submit a form, the information may be processed through those services so it can be delivered to us, stored in the relevant private business system or used to provide the feature you requested.
Like most websites, our site and its providers may process basic technical information and use cookies or browser storage to make the site work, support security and understand general site traffic. Certain website features may also keep basic records needed to provide the feature, such as when a report is created or downloaded.
Some of the website and technology services we use operate internationally, so information they handle for us may be processed or stored outside Australia as part of their normal operations.
Dog Training Q&A & local browser storage.
Ordinary Dog Training Q&A questions are handled separately from formal client and assessment records. You do not need to include your name, phone number, email address or other contact details in a normal Q&A question. If you want us to contact you or assess your dog, use the Contact or Request Assessment Time page instead.
Some assessment and K9 Pass features can save information locally in your browser so you can keep or restore progress or profile details on that device. You can remove locally saved information by clearing the relevant browser or site data, although doing so may also remove saved progress.
Photos, video & testimonials.
You may choose to send us photos or video to help explain a training issue, and media may also be captured during training where appropriate.
Information or media provided for an assessment or training service may be used for that service and related communication with you. If we want to use an identifiable client photo, video, testimonial or private client material for public marketing, we will only do so where you have agreed to that use.
Keeping, protecting & accessing information.
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably needed to deal with your enquiry, provide services, maintain appropriate customer or business records and meet any applicable legal or operational requirements.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information handled through our business systems and service providers.
You can contact us if you want to ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction or ask us to delete information that we no longer need to keep. We may need to confirm your identity before providing or changing a customer record, and there may be situations where we are required or permitted to retain particular records.
Questions, concerns & updates.
If you have a question or concern about your privacy, email info@k9conditioningpro.com and tell us what you would like us to check.
We will review your concern, contact you if we need more information and respond within a reasonable time.
Where Australian privacy laws apply to us, we handle personal information in accordance with those requirements. If the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles apply to a matter and you are not satisfied with how a privacy complaint has been handled, you may also be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
We may update this policy when our website, services or the way we handle information changes. The latest version will always show its update date at the top of the page.
